Mitchell Starc’s four wickets helped bowl Pakistan out for 240, and Australia were just one down in reply when they took the lead, as David Warner (154), Joe Burns (97) and Marnus Labuschagne (185) all dominated with the bat. They finished 580 all out, and then bowled Pakistan out for 335 in the second innings to win by an innings and five runs.

Pakistan : Pakistan’s loss at Brisbane was their 13th consecutive in Australia. They could have avoided it had they not slumped down from 75 for no loss 94 for 5.
Despite losing by an innings, their batsmen did show potential as several of them made good starts like Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, but Haris Sohail is under pressure after two failures coming in at number three and while his part-time bowling was useful, Imam-ul-Haq may come into the side for him.
After being a surprise omission for the first match, Mohammad Abbas is set to return to bowl with the pink ball in this second test. There could also be changes in the batting line-up, with Haris Sohail struggling at number three.
