Tournament : Sri Lanka tour of India, 2020
Date : Friday, January 10, 2020
Time : 7:00 PM IST 1:30 PM GMT
Venue : Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune
PITCH & CONDITION
Weather : The weather forecast in Pune is clear for Friday. The humidity level is going to be 66% which is not significantly high. It might be windy, but it won’t be as cold as some of the other parts of India.
Pitch : The pitch at the MCA stadium is very hard to predict its nature. It’s good for stroke-making at times, but it can also be slow on certain days with the ball gripping into the surface and assisting the slower bowlers.
India : The first T20I was washed out due to rain and in the second T20I India comfortably outplayed Sri Lanka and now will be eyeing series win in Pune. India’s batting as well as bowling is world class and all players are in good form and they should continue to do well.
Indian batsmen gave great account of their batting skills in the last game as they met a rather experienced bowling attack of Sri Lanka. Almost everyone chipped in with handy knocks to chase down a small target in the end. Rahul smacked 45, Dhawan got 32 on comeback, Iyer scored 34, and captain Kohli finished the game with unbeaten 30 from just 17 balls. With such form, India are sure to impress in the third T20I too. Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini stole the show with the ball in the last game picking up 3 for 23 and 2 for 18 respectively. Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 as well while a wicket each went to Bumrah and Washington Sundar. India would be expected to give another all-round performance in the next game.
India will go with unchanged XI:
India Probable Playing XI : Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Jasprit Bumrah
Sri Lanka : While it is unlikely for India to make any change to their playing XI irrespective of the conditions, Sri Lankan head coach Mickey Arthur hinted that a batting collapse in the second game meant that experienced middle order batsman Angelo Mathews might be included in the side for the last match. With Lasith Malinga having already advocated to give chances to as many players as possible, a couple of changes in the Sri Lankan XI are almost certain.
Isuru Udana’s injury means that he will not be available for this game and hence Kasun Rajitha is likely to come into the side.
Sri Lanka Probable Playing XI : Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Perera, Angelo Mathews, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Kasun Rajitha, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lahiru Kumara, Lasith Malinga
India Comfortably won the second T20 and they should once again repeat that performance. On the other hand, Sri Lanka have an ordinary and unsuited side for this match and India should beat them again.
